Updated statement regarding the recall of supermarket own-label houmous
Bakkavor Group is continuing to work on its investigation after routine testing found traces of salmonella in a small number of products supplied to Marks & Spencer.
The work includes thorough testing and examination of our raw materials, the finished product and our manufacturing processes.
We are liaising with the Food Standards Agency, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and our Local Environmental Health Authorities on all aspects of our investigations.
The safety of our consumers has to be our first priority. We are continuing to work closely with our retailers on this voluntary recall to ensure all potentially affected products have been removed from sale.
We are asking consumers who have bought houmous products indicated in the media, in-store notices and on the Bakkavor website to return them to the retailer for a full refund.
Consumers who have any queries should contact the retailer's customer care line direct.
Once again, we would like to apologise to any consumers affected by this recall.
