Paul Liveras, Sales Director

Paul has spent his entire career working within the Desserts industry. Initially, he worked within the frozen sector but then moved into chilled desserts in both a family business environment and later corporately with Allied Lyons.   Just prior to joining Laurens Paul also spent 2 years with a packaging organisation helping them enter the food industry. 

Paul joined Laurens in 1999. “I was attracted to Laurens because it meant I could return to both the family run/family oriented business environment and to a food manufacturing ethos. 

While I have remained largely in the same role since joining Laurens, my brief as sales director is wide.  I am very much involved with product development and operational teams and am also responsible for marketing and packaging development. 

At Laurens we are a small but focused team and the daily cut and thrust of managing our business is very rewarding.  We work in an environment where ‘opportunities’ as we refer to them, are shared and dealt with quickly, so the pace of life is fast!  Delivering great products on time every time is important to us and the words ‘Can Do’ are King within Laurens!  Also since key decisions are made as a team, so I get involved in all aspects of the business. 

What does it take to do my role? Well, motivation and determination are needed to be part of any successful team however I also strongly believe in treating people how I’d like to be treated. I feel this is key to building successful, fruitful respectful relationships”. 

There have been several high points for Paul since joining Laurens:  

“Starting a family business from scratch and going on to lead Laurens after it was acquired by Bakkavör has been a great journey. Helping to introduce and develop a key customer account within Laurens has also been very special”. 

For Paul, the most rewarding parts of his role are delivering 100% to the customer and being credited as a ‘Can Do Company’. Both of these elements are great motivators for anyone wanting to stay ahead of the competition. He also considers himself lucky to be a part of a great team of committed people.
