Bakkavor launches its award-winning Apprenticeship Programme for 2022
Bakkavor Group, the UK’s leading provider of fresh prepared food, is seeking 60 enthusiastic individuals to join its award-winning Apprenticeship Programme for 2022. The application process is now open and successful applicants will start their career journey with Bakkavor in September 2022.
With 60 roles available, this is an increase of sixteen on the previous year and demonstrates Bakkavor’s Early Careers commitment to modern day apprenticeships.
Bakkavor was named The Job Crowd’s Top Company for Apprentices to work for in Consumer Goods and FMCG in 2020 and 2021. The Programme provides opportunities to gain Intermediate, Higher or Advanced Apprenticeships in specialisms such as Engineering, Finance, HR, Hygiene, Learning & Development, Manufacturing, Process Technology, Product Development, SHE (Safety Health & Environment), Supply Chain, Warehouse & Logistics, Facilities Management and Continuous Improvement.
The roles are based at Bakkavor sites across the UK, including Scotland, Wigan, London, Lincolnshire, Newark, Somerset and Kent.
Applicants who make it through to the programme will experience real responsibility from day one, contributing to key business activities and projects, while also studying towards a nationally recognised qualification. They will also develop valuable life skills by getting involved in community projects, local charity initiatives and school engagement.
Donna-Maria Lee, Chief People Officer at Bakkavor Group, said: “As the UK’s leading provider of fresh prepared food, we want to attract and keep the best talent in the business and are extremely proud of our award-winning Apprenticeship programme. Our people are our most important asset, and we are now looking for the next generation of talented individuals to join our talent pipeline and gain real work experience and responsibility from day one. Bakkavor’s Apprenticeship programmes offer a broad range of opportunities for people interested in starting a career with us, in a fast-moving and dynamic business.”
Applications for Bakkavor’s 2022 Apprenticeships open on 7th February 2022 and close on 31st May 2022. For more information, please visit the Group’s website www.bakkavor.com/careers.

Notes for editors:
Apprenticeships
Bakkavor has been running its prestigious apprentice programme for nine years and offers
two levels of apprenticeship that are designed to combine employment, off-the job learning and
work-based training.
- The Advanced Apprenticeship runs for two years and is aimed at school leavers, typically those who have completed GCSEs and are starting in a new career. As an exception, Bakkavor’s Advanced Engineering Apprenticeships is four years.
- The Higher Apprenticeship runs for two years, except Engineering which is four, and is aimed at those who have typically gained A-Level qualifications and are hoping to fast-track their career. As an exception, Bakkavor’s Engineering and Procurement Higher Apprenticeships are four-year schemes.
