Bakkavor Group is proud to announce its Caledonian Produce business has won the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Award at the 2017 National CSR Awards for its ‘Sustainability in Action’ campaign. This campaign transformed the business’s approach to waste, including achieving zero waste-to-landfill. Caledonian Produce worked with Veris Strategies, their sustainability and communications partner, to create and launch the Sustainability in Action’ campaign.

Caledonian Produce is based in Bo’ness, Scotland and exclusively manufactures fresh cut vegetables, salads and ready meals for M&S. Since Sustainability in Action’s launch in August 2016, Caledonian has significantly increased the amount of surplus food and ingredients being re-used within the local community through a network of social enterprises and charities.

Tony Swindell, Group CSR Manager at Bakkavor says: “Winning this award is testament to our commitment to putting sustainability at the core of how we run our business and as a Group we’re determined to tackle the issue of food waste”.
