Our business is centred around scale, innovation, expertise and strong customer relationships.

We report our business performance under three segments: UK, US and China.

1. Alternative Performance Measures (“APMs”), including ‘like-for-like’, ‘adjusted’ and ‘underlying’, are applied consistently throughout the Annual Report. The APMs are defined in full and reconciled to the reported statutory in Note 37 of the Notes to the Consolidated Financial Statements.

Our proven business model – combined with our extensive insight into consumer trends and an ability to turn this insight into creative commercial products – gives the Group a clear competitive advantage in the FPF market.

United Kingdom

The UK is Bakkavor’s largest market, representing 87% of overall Group revenue. Our priority is producing innovative food that offers quality, choice, convenience and freshness for consumers, and this has been the foundation of our success and continues to drive our performance in the UK.

We are clear leaders the UK FPF market, holding the number one position across our four product categories: meals, salads, desserts and pizza & bread.

We produce around 1,700 short shelf-life products, the majority of which are manufactured and delivered to our customers everyday. These customers represent some of the largest and most well-known UK retailers, including Tesco, M&S, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s, and each has a long-term commitment to developing their fresh prepared food offer to consumers.



We have developed a strong presence in the two largest food markets in the world, the US and China, where we have operated for over 10 years.

We believe we are well placed to influence and develop these markets by leveraging our UK expertise. Both markets have demonstrated a growing demand for fresh, high-quality, healthy and convenient food options.
